75th CIBTC D08 Flashback!

CI Course - NRC (6th of D08) & RC2 (9th to 12th of D08)

Let me introduce to you... ...

This is DELTA!

After NRC and we're out here with a picture of momento! !
Delta is special. We never fail to turn up late that day together.
Ok.. Some of us maybe.

I knew I shouldn't have but I still wore an inner wear with a strap across my neck hoping it won't be seen. How foolish~ See la.. Got told off again.

I got more hands-on on flag stuff and many more 'on the spot thinking'. Like when the malina is really long after extension, we can use chain knot. I also learn half butterfly knot to end the guy lines. =D

This was the day we had jetty jump. I had to wear the green long sleeve shirt. ergh.. #.# That GREEN does not suit me. Anyway, thanks to Li Er for lending me.

It was fun but risky because I risked the safety of my injured right foot. A few minutes before the safety briefing is conducted, This Careless Foot of mine had to make itself known. No doubt its injury, I still went down. Splash! What a cooling sensation. Zhi Yin was very funny. When she was swimming towards the ladder, she kept saying,

"I'm not moving! I'm not moving!"

The instuctor have to repeatedly tell her, "Yes, you are moving just that the girl behind you is moving faster."

It was a long way out from Camp Resilience to the jetty. I limped my way out trying every possible way to pace myself with the rest. Ohh.. It was painful alright. I didn't know it would cause more injury to my foot. Behind me were Cheryl and Jun Hao. Every few minutes, Jun Hao will ask, "You ok anot? Sure? Sure?"

I was in pain but still ok. Finally, I went the furthest I could and Cheryl grabbed my Corporate bag from me. HA!

My BUNK MATES of BUNK 7

This picture was taken on the last day of RC2!
We couldn't find Zulaikha. =(
But we had to take a photo before the ma'ams appear and we'll have no chance!
The packing of the bed sheets, pillow cases and blankets were done in our room and we are the singing group. While waiting, we sang many camp songs. Philo and Jia Tian ma'am came in and smiled. We reported the numbers and it was DONE!

Again I felt very blessed because our bunk is the ONLY female bunk that is on ground floor. It is easy to assess and it helps us safe time climbing up the stairs when we're in a rush.
However, our bunk would be the first to get inspected. Changes of the arrangement of the bunks therefore would not reach us as quickly as the others.

I must say I like the bunks especially the pillow and the fans. The pillow is really soft and fluffy, much more soft and fluffy than the one I have at home. The fan is super strong on the ceiling which could quickly get our hair dry before we turn in to bed.



For RC2, I did not manage to hand in my individual assessment on drills. (//_//)
What the crap.. .
I couldn't join the squad in drills or pt because of my leg. .. .

CI Course - RC1 (1st to 5th of D08)

BAck from RC1.
Quite a huge sum of information bombarded at us and a lot of intake.
One question that was posted which I remembered most was
"Why am I in this course?"
I wrote down a couple of things:

- Well, firstly, Mdm Wong encouraged me to, my mom said it's a good opportunity to learn and get to know how others work.
- to better my leadership skills during execution?
- to better interact with people around me which I seldom am good at
- strengthen my unit's cadets
- come out of my comfortable zone, which is just to do the back work instead of really speaking up
- think flexibly
- be a good testimony or role model
- LEARN as much, SHARE as much, BRING BACK as much, CONTRIBUTE as much

I realised that there is a reason for every decision made by NPCC and it is reasonable. Like why are the lashings or knots tied in a certain manner, why things are carried out in this order. In NPCC, everything is done in such an orderly manner and I like it.

Then, it's like I have to ask myself "Am I going through motion?"
I have yet to answer that.


Debriefing is something I am not sure how to go about doing. Here I learn that we should catogorise our debriefings. (eg. Posture, professionalism, preperation, partnership, classroom management, how to summarise a lesson, how to clarify when wrong things are being taught, etc.. so much more.)

I remembered volunteering to check the uniform for the girls and when briefing them on their mistakes, I can't organise the pointers in my head and it was so messy, I need to write it down to brief. It was kind of heart-thumping.

Teaching of knots was easy as it was more flexible than during drills.
I got a feeling I am not going to do so well for my first assessement on radio com and footdrills because I didn't manage to study.




On 4th December 2008, THE GREATEST MISTAKE I SHOULDN'T HAVE DONE.
It was the simplest thing I should have done - pin up my fringe.
Great, because of this, I got shouted right at my face. I remembered when I was collecting the attendance list from other squads. I was thinking to go to ma'am first of to get my clip. I made a wrong choice. Anyway, it's over! -.-


Through this first 5 days, I met DELTA! Marvelous bunch of people.

Spending most of the time eating with them and being the outstanding ones almost everytime in HTA. We had quite some time finding a place in Long John Silver on 5th DEC and I saw AKID working there.

A lot of jokes,
a lot of crap,
which made my life there more joyous and interesting.
Stressed at first, but less stress when Delta occupied my life. =D

I was definitely a fabulous night
at Raffles Conventional Hall.

Crap.

There was PS2 to play in church! I was bad at racing. I bumped almost anywhere. -.-
My new spectacles are making me tired. On the way to the petrol station bustop, I heard my brother from the back saying, "Oh, our bus is here! Bye." "Chelsea."

The next thing I knew I was running for the bus. As I ran, I saw it was bus 855. I wasn't going to take that bus. Why am I running for it.? Then I turned around and Kor Joel was like, "Why are you running? It's my bus." I was dumbfounded. Everyone was laughing at me. =.='''

I heard my brother wrongly. And Kor Joel missed his bus. Funny.

*YAWN*

Mummy's bed was comfortable! I slept the whole night on her bed.
Sentosa was today's plan! When Ruiqi and Debbie arrived, "Ok, let's go."
"What about the rest?"

Then I learnt that there are only the 3 of us. Haha. So funny.
I didn't intend to swim, neither did I intend to sun tend.
After breakfast, I lied on the burning sand for a while and it was shiok!
I could feel my skin being roasted.

Kor Gareth called.
"Are you all at Sentosa?"
Ruiqi replied, "Ya. We saw a bunch of half naked guys playing soccer."
"I'm one of them."
"Huh?! Are you at Tanjong Beach?"
"Ya."
"What?! Haha."

Later, we got up and played fris bee. Debbie was the profressional thrower. It went flying straight at me. woosh~ An army guy, Desmine, came by and joined us. My fris bee was bad. It went flying everywhere. =D

We went to find Kor Gareth and said hi. Debbie and Ruiqi went to swim and I hesitated.
It took me long before I went in. I didn't want to get my hair soaked in seawater. I would damage my hair somehow. =(

Those army guys were huge, ferocious looking. Looking at the way they grab their sir into the water was ohmy. Kor Gareth was like "Wait wait wait wait..! Go deeper somemore!"

The clouds came. We know the rain was about to come. We took some photos and went to bathe.
POUR. POUR. POUR. I got the shower with the better tap, while Ruiqi had to keep on pressing. While passing the shampoo to me, I slipped on Ruiqi's side and dropped into the drainage. Oooo...

Despite Ruiqi begging her not to do so, Debbie still took the shampoo out from the dirty drainage. Sento's train seat was wet because of the whether and we had to clean it. Debbie and I got out our umbrella weapon and shielded ourselves. What a wet day.

I was steamed? My arms were a little hurt and I had a colour change.


Reaching Habour Front, Debbie went for a 10mins haircut at QB House. We got a photo of her. HA! And I got FOOD for my hungry stomach.



Off I went to collect my spectacles at Mummy's office place. Hmm.. The degree is weird. I see a shadow behind the things I look at. I went to check with them thrice. Well, I'm going to test it out for a few days and get back to them. After Mummy's work, she brought me to look for my dress and we bought it. x)

Not very joyous?

BYE BYE O'LEVELS.!
Chemistry MCQ was slightly tougher than Physics MCQ. I was trying to limit my time for each question and it was hard. Now that O'levels is over, I felt a little please. But I wasn't as relaxed. I felt similarly restless.

I am very happy. I went for a Dental check up. My brother came along with me. I thought I could walk in and book an appointment on the spot, and have it done asap. Little did I know, they had changed the policy! Appointments must be done before we come for check up. Oh well. Mum wasn't really happy though. She wanted us to call before we make our trip down.

Then, we headed to Mum's office to see her before I get my eyes check and spectacles done nearby. I got a purple one. I don't know why.
The optician said it suits me. -.-

Check up

Mum called me up. She said she could drive me down to the polyclinic to do my check up for my CI Course. With some buttons and switches, I got my computer going and get the form printed.

Huh?! They need a parent for those under 17/18years and Mum had went for BSF already. I went to Westmall and waited for Mum. It was silent, many shops weren't open yet. Next, I saw Kevin and Patrick walking in.

"Hi! Just finished your paper?"
"Yup."

And nothing else was said.

I went to mac and got a big breakfast. Man! It was filling alright. I took out my Chemistry notes and studied as well. Once Mum was done, we went back to the polyclinic. It was 2hours there and I ate into Mum's time..

Small Group Outing (BBQ)

The food was fantastic! I ate quite a lot of chicken wings. Our portable pit was beside an ants nest. OooOo.. Hundreds of ants run out at the smell of our food.

I like the hamock Kor Gareth brought. Yan Tze and I were inside when Kor Rui Xiang kept swinging it. Swing swing swing and we toppled. heehee :D

We had a wonderful evening singing praises to the Lord too!

I stared at it for a moment and
forgot that I have this secret weapon - BAYGON
I left it alone.
Then slept at 4am in the morning after
studying 2 chapters of my Social Studies.

The topics I studied came out! Praise the Lord!
I was trying to ask God for a miracle and I asked for it 3 times. Hah.
I was asking for either Sri Lanka, Northern Ireland or Bonding Singapore topics to come out.
And... Both Sri Lanka and Northern Ireland topics came out! =D

Well, 19marks flew away because I spent 1hour on the essays, and 30mins on source based which should be the other way round. So... 1b,c,d serve 19marks and it's GONE... T_T

A rat ran across my path again.
It seemed to a regular rat that feed on the remains in the dusbin beside my house's lift.
First was a cockrach, next, a rat. Hmm... ...

Yes..! The 15th Episode is out. I can't wait for the match. But obviously, for these kind of shows, the good would normally win, somehow, after some struggles. Let's see what happens then!

Studying for Social Studies was my intension for today. I have nothing today except the hours to help bring back our Art courseworks.

I ended up slacking the whole morning and evening away watching television. What ill-discipline I have. Must scold myself a bit.

The timed changed to 1.30pm for us to meet in the foyer.
Upon arrival, I saw what I liked to see - my friends playing basketball. Eheh.. I want to shoot also.

Soon we headed to the marking place to collect our stuff back.
Hazlinda aiyo.. Keep saying that I 偷懒. haha.
I was holding this ceremics claw and can't go up and take those art works down. But.. ... I took a few down before I got hold of that eagle claw. 我可以抓人哦。。看我的！鹰抓功！
Eh.. Can ask Jieying teach me some of her kung fu. ha.

So nice to see my art work again. ah~

I wanted it to be Saturday

My mum woke me early today.
huh.. Today is Saturday ba.. Can sleep a little longer.
No..! It's Emath p2 la deh..
Ahha! No problem! =D

I'm so in love with.. with.. 篮球火! I like those shows.
会让我很投入，好像我在场一样nei。
Waiting for the other Episodes to be posted.
I want to be like 球鬼! Play with shuai qi and fast reflexes..!
But a little hard ah. I'm not so focused on basketball like those burning for more. I love basketball, but it's different. Just different and I don't know how to say.

Later I decided to go with my brother to the basketball court for a while. Huijuan,Kengyong and Serene were there, with Eran and some people going home.
I was rather tired then, just wanted to shoot shoot. Later Julian and his friends asked for a match with my brother and I.
Okay.. One match ba..

It turned out to be 3 continuous match for 55mins. I need to breathe man. 3 quarter of the time I was day dreaming. I can't help it. I was tired. -.-
By the 2nd match, I was panting tremendously.


My accuracy and qie ban went down the drain. What happened? My reflexes were slower, confidence level dropped. Sigh. Noob man.
They won 2:1. Mostly, with my brother scoring. Throughout the 3 matches, I only scored ONE! Pathetic.!

Two reasons I guess were that:
1) I didn't have enough sleep especially the day before Art paper
2) It's been long since I played basketball =(

What a day.

Last minute, can I do it?

It was a race against time. Until the last minute, I was still doing my prep work. Blame myself for wasting so many days away.

It was again another night without sleep, just like my prelims.
Madness, was it. yipee! Managed to finish my painting but not fully dried yet.

Art or physics was more important? I chose art. =(
I rather finish my art. Physics, I didn't have time to study. Great..
By the time I came home after art, I was like a dead piece of meat - exhausted.
Many blanks and blanks and BLANKS for my physics paper! I know it's from the textbook, which ever topic, but because I didn't study, it's a consequence I have to face.
Sorry physics teachers... x(

Drama Night - YISS Grease

Why didn't my batch have large scale drama? I LOVE IT!
Especially musical ones. It's like being in a High School Musical set up.
Looking at the drama, it's also like watching the actual Grease LIVE.
It's a good thing I didn't miss out on this one.

I saw Margaret Sng there. Actually it should be she spotted me.
Our school's choir has really grown in numbers. It's like 5 to 6 times the previous batch and the whole singing altogether is marvelous.
一级棒！

Band 就不用多说了. My juniors are there lei.. Really proud of them. x)
My Mum and sister were there with me with my sister running around during the break.

At the end, they threw balloons to the audiences. Some were really huge. Looking at my sister's face, I knew what she was thinking.
I stood up and grabbed one of those big yellow balloons for her. Her face lid up with a bright smile. But soon she lost hold of it and it got hit into the air again. There goes her balloon, in the hands of another girl. My little sister started to cry. Ohmy ohmy..

Later we happened to get the balloon back for her and her black face was gone. How amazing children's mood changes.

This performance is truely a success! ^.^

Preparation for O'levels wasn't going very well for me.
Jie Cheryl said I'm the most relax girl out of all my O'levels friends in youth. Hmm.. I'll take it as a compliment. =)

Chemistry paper like many have heard. It's E-A-S-Y,
because I studied. yeah!
Even though I had a couple of blanks.. It's better then getting F9! =.=
I was thanking God so much for seeing me though this irritating paper that made me worry all day long. Haiyo! 气消了吧. phew~

Well well well.. Here comes the important subject -Eng..ge..lish..
fooah! Like that lor.. Nothing much to say about that paper.
Oh! have have..
